There’s no intricate folding, no fancy techniques, just a straightforward, fun cooking process that’s almost therapeutic. The shrimp, the sriracha, the shallots, they all come together effortlessly to form little dumplings that will have you feeling like a culinary genius.

Cheat’s Prawn Dumplings

Makes: 4 Serves
Prep Time: 10 minutes (minimum 20min chill time)
Cooking time: 5-15 minutes

Ingredients:

400g prawn meat

1 egg

2 tbsp cornflour

1 tbsp sriracha

1/4 chopped shallots (green part)

1 tsp garlic powder


Method:

1. Make the Dumpling Mixture- Add all dumpling ingredients to a food processor. Blend until the mixture is well combined and smooth.

2. Chill the Mixture - Transfer the mixture to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to firm up.

3. Prepare the Broth - In a large pot, bring your preferred stock or broth to a boil.

4. Form and Cook Dumplings - Reduce the heat to a gentle simmer. Using a tablespoon, scoop portions of the chilled dumpling mixture and gently drop them into the simmering broth.

5. Simmer Until Cooked - Let the dumplings cook for about 5 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through and float to the top.
